If it's the type of sprinkler I'm picturing, there should be two clips sitting on top of each other, below the sprinkler head. When the lever (which sticks out from beneath the head) comes in contact with one of the clips, it changes direction, until it makes contact with the other clip... and so on... Adjusting the distance between contact points will increase the arch of coverage. To make adjustments, just rotate the clips clockwise or counter clockwise until you achieve the desired amount of arch.
If you remove both clips completely, a complete circle should result... although I have never actually done this.
