    Legal?? He can date, he may even have sex in many states, in some areas he will be restricted from having sex with her.
    Now if the parents do not want you to date her, and you do it anyway, there are other laws they can look at, interfering with custody, if you take her any place against Their wishes and so on.
    The local judge may not go for it, but let them be important or rich people in town, you often get the best justice money can buy.

    What's the age of consent on Michigan?
    I doubt there's a law preventing dating, but there might be one against sex... although what constitutes sex between 2 girls is a little more difficult to define.
    Are you one of the girls?

    If the age of consent is 17, you should be fine. Unless they have a different age for homosexual relationships.
    That's a bit of an age gap, so she's probably less experienced than you, so maybe take things slow all the same. But if the legal age is 17, I don't think there's anything the law can do to stop you. :)

    Dating? No legalities involved. Sex? Possibly. Check with your state's age of consent.

    As far as other things go, why a 17 year old? I mean... I always question gaps that are so large... as a 24 year old is probably on their path to a career... or grad school, while a 17 year old is probably looking into taking her SATs... prom... or going to college. What kind of bond can exist?

    Of course, I'm not one to criticize love... but how would you react to a 24 year old guy going after a 17 year old girl..

    It is legal in most states for this and may be legal for sex. How and Why would there be such an age gap? LOVE knows no age limits. Lets get real here. A 40 year old can have LOVE for a 16 year old. The problem is "NORMAL" society doesn't like it. Well tough. IF you love this girl and she loves you, it definitely could work. And I know 16 year olds who absolutlely are in love with much older males. It works and can work. Don't let society tell you its wrong. Love is KOOL
