Your eye color is a matter of genetics. Nothing can be taken to lighten or darken eye color that is healthy. If you don't like your eye color, you could try contacts.

Well I didn't mean necessarily "Change" eye color... I know that nothing can say make my eyes green or blue or whatever color... if they are not... I just heard that sometimes eye color can be clouded from mucus build up in the bowel... (Strangge... but hey I'm not an internal medical specialist.. ) over the years I've noticed a chage in the clarity of my own eyes... maybe this is just a regular change but I'm not sure... I'm in good health for the most part... so it's not a medical condition and I was wondering if anyone knew what these herbs were and if they exist... or not... or if there is any truth in this because I've heard of the existence of such herbs from more than one source... yet no one has really been too clear on what herbs these may be or there purpose... however "bowel cleansing... was the most often referenced... I heard that some memory enhancing herbs may do the sam ebut that was only once... maybe just coincidence.. . Thanks anyway for an answer...

I think what you are referring to is Iridology. This is practice of diagnosing internal ailments based on the state of your eyes. It is not necessarily a bowel cleansing thing, its all kinds of different things.

I would not recommend taking on cleansing without a diagnosis from a doctor. However, you could look up Iriodologists in your area. I had a friend who had great success with treatment for stomach pains by using one.

Apply natural ground black pepper directly to the eyes to achieve a nice red color.

J/K, I don't know of any herb that can lighten your eye color. I heard that many people's colors change with different levels of sun though.

My eye color changes all the time. My hair also lightens and darkens often. I never understood why until I began doing detoxes for my health such as detoxing for the very common but at the same time unknown candida that many people have. Whenever I take herbs such as oregano and other candida fighting herbs my eyes start changing colors and this is now I know I am getting healthier. Here is how my eye colors have been:

-I was born with blue eyes and they turned green and stayed green throughout my growing up years. That is kind of common from the way I understand it.

    - Then in my early 20s my eyes began turning into a rusty brown color. Between turning from green to brown they were an almost gold color. I did not understand why but thought maybe it was because I was starting to take after my Cherokee father and get his dark brown eyes. But my eyes never turned dark brown they stayed a rusty unhealthy brown. Not pretty at all.

-As the years went by throughout my 20s my eyes got so rusty brown that they drowned out all trace of the once pretty green. My health was also going down hill fast.

    - -At age 29 I became a type 2 diabetic and learned about the dangers of eating too many carbohydrates. I went on a strict healthy low carb diet and lifted weights. I lost weight. That is when I 1st started noting my rusty brown eyes starting to show some of their former traces of green.

-At age 35 I found out and studied candida which is a name for the various yeast/fungal/molds that attack a persons body and reek havoc and cause lots of health issues that vary in each person.
I began taking some herbal supplements that fought off candida. My eyes began changing colors and looking more healthy and bright. As time went on the rusty brown was going away to reveal a green. And after more time the green was starting to reveal a blueish-greenish look. I am almost 37 now and whenever I run out of candida fighting herbs my eyes start going back to that rusty brown but every single time I stick with herbs like oregano and herbal combo supplements my eyes start getting rid of that rusty brown .

In my 20s my hair kept turning into a rusty reddish brown ( it had been darker) at the same time my health was declining. Now as I am taking herbal supplement not only my eyes are changing colors but so is my hair. It is has gone from rusty reddish brown to dark brown and healthy. Just yesterday someone asked me if I dyed my hair because it was looking darker and better.

For me oregano works well. There are others that help some people like garlic. Try doing a Google search on candida. You will find a lot of info. Some docs believe in it and some don't. All I know is that it is for real and my eyes and hair are changing and getting heathier whenever I fight against candida.

    I agree with BJ
Often your eye color will change or get dull according to your health and the medicines you take.

    That's not true at all.

Detoxifying your body and going on a raw food diet is known to produce lighter iris color as well as lighter, more glowing skin.

Maybe not in ALL cases, but I'm sure in many. I've seen this myself in other people. I will detox myself very soon.

I knew a girl whose eyes changed drastically according to her mood and the environment.
I have lost the gold speckles in my eyes over the years and the green is more of a dull blue.
The antioxidents for your eyes are bilberry and ginkgo but nothing can guarantee changing eye color in any way and definitely no guarantee they would change to what you want.

My mother took these "vitamin for the eyes" pills from england, and they turned her darkbrow/black eyes into green and a few years later she became pregnant with my sister and my sisters eyes also turned green. And even though green eyes are in our genes my grandmother has this weird mixture of green and blue so we know pretty well that it wasn't genetics. A couple of years later the company shut down because they didn't have many customers. After my mother stopped taking them her eyes turned a light brown, almost hazel. When she is extremely healthy her eyes turn green again. Therefore I know the colour of your eyes matter on gentics but you can alter them.
