    If a credit card is use to buy gas. Is it treated as a purchase

    If it is a credit card, it is just one more purchase. I have bought most of my gas since credit cards came out on credit cards and seldom paid a fee or interest. I mostly use a Discover Card that pays a 5% rebate. As long as I pay the balance in full by the due date, I use their money for free.
