The original "Dark Night of the Soul" is a religious masterpiece in the mystical tradition. It was written by St. John of the Cross, a Spanish priest/monk, in the 16th century. Considered to be a near-perfect expression of one's apprehension of God, it has been translated into over 100 languages. It is a profound poem, although not for everyone, and can easily be found in English on the internet. |
