I bought my first heeler and she is a joy, that is, until she soils in the house. I have housebroken one dog already. But not sure why this dog is so hard to break. I have tried about every method out there... crate,bell,schedualed outtings,walks,even paper training. However,none have seemed to work.

The best advice I can give is patience and consistency (and stay away from puppy pee pads, they jusy lead to further confusion). The best method in my opinion is crate training, but regular excersise is a must too. Every time she drinks or eats, you imeaditly bring her out side and stays out side until they elliminate. After play time, same thing. Then comes the positive reinforcement. Treat after she uses the bathroom out side. Make a HUGE deal out of it.
Unless you catch her red pawed in the act of eliminating in your house, you can't really discipline. What I have found is that dogs who have some one home with them at all times are faster and easier to house break, but I know that is not always the case. Is there someone home? How long is she crated for each day?
If someone is home I have found specific scheduals to be very helpful. But you have to follow them to a T.

How old is your dog?

Sometimes house training is hard. It takes time for the dog to understand where it is good to potty and where it is bad to potty.

What do you do when you catch your dog pottying in the house? Or do you even see her do it?

My black pittie was the hardest thing to train. She would pee her crate every day. She didn't get any blanket or toys because she peed her crate every time she went in it. She started good... 4 months rolled around, and she decided that she wasn't going to be house trained -- when she turned 6 months exactally, she learned to go outside and go potty and hasn't ever had a mistake in the house since. I honestly think she'd allow herself to get a bladder infection before she potties in the house.

House training takes time. Some dogs get it within weeks, others it takes months. Stick to a schedule that works for you and don't venture off it for any reason. Consistancy is the key to training dogs.. Even the blockheaded types.

Potty pads just enforce the issue of soiling the house. Throw those pads out!

Dogs don't like to pee in there own territory, so make sure when you let them outside, that either you are walking them, or there loose in the yard. My dog will not go to the washroom outside unless she is loose, or being walked. Can't just tie her up
