Did you set one or is it the factory default?

This is different depending on the make/model of your router.

Like Ben mentioned you'll have to post the make/model of your router. Of course if you have the documentation it'll all be in there.

Set an Administrative Password
Step 1: Open a web browser and enter the IP address of the router in the address bar (default is 192.168.0.1). Press Enter.
Step 2: The default username is admin and the password is blank (nothing). Click OK.
Step 3: Click the Tools tab and then click Admin to the left.
Step 4: To change the administrative password, enter a new password in the Admin Password section.
Step 5: Click Save Settings to save the settings.

So the problem is NOT that you can't get into your router's configuration but that you can't change its password. What are you going to change the password?

I'm trying to install a wireless printer and it seems that the router is the problem. That is why I need to configure the router since Hp instalation redirects me to the router.

So what's stopping you from configuring the router? You said you can get into the router using the defaults.

That's a good point, which password are you trying to change? If you could get a screenshot that would help immensely.
