What is it, exactly, that you are trying to do?

If you get an error message, what does it say (exactly)?

What is the make and model of your router?

192.168.0.1 is a local area network address. It doesn't normally exist on the "Internet". It's the address given to a computer when "Internet connection sharing" is used.

You shouldn't be able to ping it unless you're on a local area network (a small home network, for example) and a computer in your network actually has that IP address.

If there's a computer on your LAN with that address, and you can't get to it, check the Windows Firewall and make sure that it's either turned off (do that for testing) or an exception has been entered.

    Maybe you should try 192.168.1.1
    This is your router address.
You cannot do this via a wireless connection but through your hard-wired connection.
When you get connected it will prompt you for for an id & password which you should have gotten from your Internet provider.
Be careful about changing anything on your router.
Search the Internet for router tutorials before you attempt to change anything.

Perito: This is your default gateway of his router. He cann access it, if it's the correct IP and he has all settings enabled to connect to it and the router works.

Starman: Yes, you cann access it through wireless, I have done it many times, also the username and password is not something you get from your ISP it's default per router manufacturer. He can Google it for the correct username and password. What I am guessing is either the router is not working or he's got the wrong gateway.

989133- We need the model, make. It could be a gateway of 192.168.1.1 it all depends. Try restting your router, there should be a reset button on the bottom of the router, after you reset the router it will be completely be unsecured. Try going into your wirless app. And connect to your router it should reset the SSID so it won't be named the same as it was. It will ask that it's unsecure and if you still want to connect, and push yes connect anyway. After you connect to the internet. Type 192.168.1.1/192.168.0.1 it should then pop up a sign in prompt.

I really hate be nitpicky about this since it could be a typo instead of an oversight on your part.

You must add a colon character after http as in http://192.168.0.1.

jean912, IP addresses in the 196.168.x.x range don't belong to anyone. Per RFC 1918 (see URL below) these are special IP addresses that can be used by everyone in their internal networks. Whenever you have 192.168 addresses in your network, the router is configured to use NAT (Network Address Translation) to route your computers with 192.168.x.x addresses out via the IP address assigned to you from your ISP.
