    I can hear water running in my bathroom walll. What is the cause?

    Depends. If the house is new: Nowadays there's a hot-water-circle that's constantly in motion to make sure that every bathroom immediately has hot water available.

    Let's check and see what the problem is. To check to see if you have a hidden leak first shut down everything in the house, no flush, no drinks of water, and if you are on a meter go out and check the little pointer in the gage. It should not move or creep. If it does you have a leak. If you're on a pump then check the pressure gage after the pump builds up to pressure and shuts off. The gage should not fall and the pump come back on. If so then you have a leak. Hope this helps and thank you fot rating my reply, Tom

    If you hear water running in the wall and do not have a re-circulation line and pump, and do not see any signs of water damage, close the stop valve underneath the toilet. If the sound of water running ceases, check the water level in the toilet tank. Adjust the water level in the tank to 1” below the top of the overflow tube. If the ball cock or fill valve will not maintain the proper level replace the seal in the ball cock or fill valve.
