    Removing a kitchen sink sprayer
I have a kitchen sink sprayer that has been broken for some time. It is clasped so it won't leak anymore. Meanwhile I want to remove it completely and in it's place install one of those soap pump units.

How do I remove the sprayer? Do I need a special clamp to stop the water that would go to the line?

    Thanks for your help

Yes, I have the shout off valves right under the sink. Sorry, your answer was a little advanced for me. Can I purchase a cap for the line once I close the water and remove the sprayer?

    OK sjs,
Here's the skinny. You do not have to shut off the water under the cabinet to do this. Simply leave the faucet off. Your hose is connected at the bottom of the valve. Purchase a 1/8th inch brass plug and a small roll of Teflon Tape. Follow the hose back and unscrew the hose from the valve body. Replace it with the brass plug with a few turns of Teflon Tape wrapped around the threads. Now pull the sprayer hose out of the sink and remove the chrome sprayer seat. You may now install your soap despenser. Good luck, Tom

speedball1 - thank you. I just got back from Lowe's and purchased a brass cap - not sure if I got the right size - I'll check when I go home. Already have tape.
Sounds easy - who says I can't do a mans job.
    Thanks again
