Prolapsed uterus in dogs

I have a prolapsed uterus (yes I'll tell the whole world) and I am scheduled for surgery. I do not want to have my uterus yanked out. The thought makes me sick. But also the time and pain after surgery. And I can't pick up anything even 3 months after. Is there not an alternative that works...
