what is the name of this symbol

im trying to find the name of a symbol. it looks like a V with a line in the middle. around the V is a helix. kinda like part of an E in script

IF this ¥ is the symbol you're referring to, it stands for Yen.

$ = dollars
¢ = cents
£ = pounds
¥ = Yen

no thats not it its more of a V and the line is directly through the middle vertically. then there is a C that is behind it upside down like a cup turned over, but the ends of the C are looped

This sounds like it could relate to electronics in some way. Volts are represented with a V and Ohms are represented with an omega Ω.

im pretty sure its a dingbat symbol i just cant find it anywhere. i have a pic of it but its not to good. iv seen it in books sometimes at the beginning and end of chapters
