Is the punctuation correct in this sentence?

No, the comma is not necessary. "Shoot! Shoot!" the crowd yelled as Mario raced towards the goal. You could argue for putting a comma between yelled and as, but I think it reads better without it.

When you end a sentence with "a.m." do you put two periods after the a.m.? If it were a different punctuation mark I would (see previous), but it looks silly to write a.m.. Thanks!
