changing from j1 to h1

hi
i am on a j1 visa. this is the first year. i work in a school. i can stay here for 3 years. my school wants me to stay for a longer time .they are willing to give the sponsor letter and required documents. my first year will end in july26 2009.i am on an exchange programme.i have to shell out a 14% of my salary to them and in the third year i have to give 14% to them and also pay the taxes. it wont be worthwhile being here.i dont mind paying the taxes that apply.

so my questions are
1. can i go back to my country and apply for a h1 visa?
2. do you think i will get it?
3. after getting it can i just work on the h1 visa?
4. do you think the contract i signed with the excahnge program can create a problem?
