Is this something I should be worried about? Is there something I can do about it? I also missed my period which hasn't happen for around two years. I'm 17 and am not sexually active. I really don't want to go see a doctor because the only one I can get an appointment with is a guy so I'm hoping someone here can help me out.

Can you be more specific? Is this yellow discharge coming out of vaginal area or breast?

You are not sexually active? Does that mean that you have never had any sex of any form whatsoever?

The yellow discharge is coming from the vaginal area and I am a virgin.

Maybe you should get checked for a yeast infection. You just need to urinate in a cup," the guy Dr.don't matter", they can do a urinalysis with culture and sensitivity,and have the results in a 2 or 3 days

It is best to see a doctor. It does not matter whether it is male or not. If there needs to be any exams. Many men doctors now will request for there to be a women present. Like a nurse or secretary just so there is not any situations that could arise to jeopardise their job or you as a patient. Many doctors do not even look in your situation. They will just know by your description. I personally feel it is normal discarge. As long as it is not smelly. If it is smelly or goes to a darker colour then it is definatly an infection. Please do not take this over a doctors advice. Seek it. Get it taken care of just incase it is signs of a beginning infection.

Yes, I agree that this sounds like a yeast infection. And, if you are in the states, it is required by law that there are 2 people in the room if the doctor has to perform an exam. It does not matter if the doctor is a man or a woman, there have to be 2 people in the room.

One last question, is there any itching? This would most likely indicate a yeast infection.

It doesn't itch so would it still be a yeast infection? If it is a yeast infection would I be fine leaving it alone? Since I do remember reading that yeast infections usually pass on their own even without treatment. Also could missing my period have anything to do with the yellow discharge?

Take your Mom or a girlfriend or sister with you to help you get more comfortable with the idea of a male doc. After this issue is addressed if you are still uncomfortable with having a male doc, you can call your local hospital and see if they have some female gyns there that you can see.
Believe me, a lot of women have the same concerns about some strange man poking around in thier nether regions. The thing is, it really doesn't matter whether the doc is male or female, what matters is how comfortable he/she makes you feel.
When I was a little older than you are I went to a female gyn, and she was horrible to me. She was rude, and rough with me. Later I went to a male doc it it was a much better experience for me. He answered all my questions, and was gentle, he believed me when I said that I never had sex before. I don't think the female doc believed me.
Also, you can do some research on line to see what exactly will happen during the exam. Sometimes the unknown makes you over-react to situations.
If there is a Planned Parenthood in your area, you can try there. They usually have a female doc available, and if not there are always lots of female technicians, and nurses available to help you feel more comfortable.

Also, do not forget, if you do see a male doc, it is law, at least in the states, that another person be in the room with you.

Whether the doc is male or female there must be a second person in the room when performing an exam that is this "personal."

and no, a yeast infection wont disappear on it´s own.
