    Vaginal odor.
So over the past three days or so, I have noticed that I have a lingering vaginal odor. It is not intense or overwhelming in any way, it's just there. I am not having any itching or large discharge or any other symptoms like that, everything is regular except that. I have not had sex in a while and should be due for menstruation in about a week. So what is this? Don't mean to be gross but it's not a fishy or a 'dirty' smell... it's just different and slightly intensified. (no douching or irritants have ever been used! I'm not into that... I only use natural organic products for the most part... ) HELP!!

You may have picked up some nasty bacteria from a public toilet. The entire time I lived in a dorm, I had something that smelled. See your OBGYN and do not clean up before you go. Take the smell with you, otherwise they may not be able to diagnose what it is.

If she has bacteria that aren't supposed to be there (remember, we have good bacteria too!:)), they will be able to detect it through a pap smear. She doesn't have to take the smell with her, and to be honest, I don't know of many doctors that would appreciate that. :p

Some causes of vaginal odor can be yeast infection, bacterial vaginosis, sweat, or plain old poor hygiene. If you can't find the source of the problem, you may want to see a doctor so he/she can try and find it.
