Questions about Chlamydia and treatment

So I wont go TOO much into details, but last month I found out that my fiance gave me Chlamydia. I'm also pregnant so it worries me. Well I have a few questions.

First of all, he was treated before me without even being checked before hand. We ended up sort of getting intimate which involved him rubbing his genitals against mine, but not inside or directly in the vagina. This was before I got treated. I told him we shouldn't have sex but I was paranoid that even this small bit of activity might cause some issues. So after we finished I told him to go straight to the shower and wash himself thoroughly. He did so. Though I know the infection would have probably already transmitted again if it was going to.

So finally I got treated and then we ended up doing the same intimate act once again, even though it's only been a few days since I've been treated. I'm afraid that perhaps during his treatment I may have transferred it back to him through that small little act, and then after I got treated maybe he transferred it back to me again just from doing that.

What do you guys think?

How long does it usually take for medication to clear chlamydia up? I know they say not to have sex until both you and your partner are checked and cleared. (generally they say wait for 2-4 weeks). Is this how long it takes for Chlamydia to clear once you take treatment? If I did it in between the time he got treated and the amount of time it takes to fully be treated, could it have still been entirely treated?

And last question to some of these medications often cause stabbing pains in the abdominal area and cause diarrhea? It was HORRIBLE. Both of us suffered from it.

OH and one last thing...Does a treatment for chlamydia cure wherever it may be found in the body? Or does it only cure a specific type of Chlamydia? Like did my treatment treat oral and genital Chlamydia, or do they require separate treatment? hmm...

Hopefully some of you can be of help! Thanks.

Thankyou =) Well I don't sleep around or anything so we've both been treated just at separate times. I suppose I might be dealing with more treatment but surely we wont mess it up again next time. It was HeLL going through it the first time (treatment that is) ::Sigh:: painful. lol. I took azithromycin..I think he had the same....zythromax or something. I don't know. Thanks though! I'll be visiting the GYN again tomorrow.

Just a note - your boyfriend needs a check up also. Also, you need to know, not just think, what treatment he received. Both of you on a regime of care and to abstain during the course of medication. Then to go back and get rechecked, as there are times when Chlamydia can be stubborn.

Partners should always be treated at the same time and no sex until after you have been checked. I lost my fallopian tubes, and therefore my fertility, to asymptomatic chlamydia. DH and I just kept passing it back and forth because we didn't know we had it. Do not risk your future fertility, you know what the issue is and how to handle it!

shygrneyzs agrees: Well stated. I had been diagnosed with Chalmydia when I was 26, treated with Flagyl. My doctor did not trest my husband and I got it again.
