Possible Implantation spotting

I am 12dpo and I had some spotting yesterday that was only pink and was only there when I checked my cervix. I have as of today not had any more spotting what so ever. Is there a chance that it could have been implantation spotting? My usual luteal phase is 11 days so AF was expected today but have had none of the usual symptoms.

Okay, please understand that implantation bleeding is less common than most people think. Most of the time it even goes unnoticed if you even have it.

Are you using any form of birth control? What is your age? Last time for sex? And can you explain how you checked your cervix?

These are all important questions when trying to help. The more info the better.

I have been charting my cycels for several months I am 27 years old mother of 3 children ranging from 6-19 monhs. I had implantation bleeding with both of my sons. I am currently trying to conceive my fourth child. I am just finding it odd that I am experiencing these things when I dont usually. I check my cervix when I go to the restroom after washing my hands. I check to see how high my cervix is, if it open, if it is soft or firm. I also check to see what my cervical mucus is like whether it is dry, sticky, creamy, eggwhites. I was doingmy routine cervical check when i noticed just a little bit of pinkish blood. After that I never had anymore. My period is expected to start today but no signs of her impending arrival are happening. I also take my waking temperature every morning this morning it had went down just alittle but was still pretty high. I was just wondering what the possiblity of it being implantation could be? I ovulated 12 days ago and I had sex 3 days before I ovulated. Thanks!

Hmmm, you are one smart gal. Most women don't know as much as you do about your body and I congratulate you for taking such good care of yourself.

If you had sex 3 days prior to ovulation it is possible you are not pregnant.

You know so much already so here goes.........

First you ovulate, when ovulation begins the egg stays in the upper portion of the fallopian tube, that is where it is fertalized. It then takes about 3 - 4 days after fertalization to travel down the tube into the uterus where it implants. Implantation is usually around 7 days after fertalization.

So........ if you had sex 3 days after ovulation the egg was most likely traveling down the tube or already in utero.

The bleeding may simply be a symptom of you checking your cervix in conjuction with oncoming menstruation.

If I were you I would take an HPT to be sure, since you know that proper care is warrented if you are pregnant.

Well only time will tell I suppose if my period does not start I will take a test to see if I am pregnant. If it comes out negative I'll call my OB to see what is going on. thank you.
