My daughter is on birth control pills (ortho tricyclen lo) and recently missed two pills in a row in one cycle. She took two on the next day to make up for it and has had relations with her boyfriend once since then without any other protection. It is a little over a week until she supposed to start her period and now she says she is bleeding. Is this a common thing that can happen when you mess up on your schedule of birth control pills? I am worried about her and she is afraid she is pregnant or something. I don't think she is but I am worried.

No need to be worried, you don't bleed when you are pregnant.

What she is experiencing is most likely break through bleeding caused by missing the pills. However, missing the pills does make them less effective. She needs to use a back up method of birth control until the next pack of pills.
