    painful urination after sex
    hi I'm new here.. :) I was just curious why sometimes the day after having sex, I find it difficult to urinate? It feels painful and when I urinate, only a few comes out.. I am now drinking tea and lots of water to aleviate the pain.. but it doesn't feel useful so far.. :( please help me out?:( thanks a lot..

    Sounds like it could possibly be cystitis.

    But I don't have hematuria, my urine doesn't have a strong smell, and I don't have a fever. Could intercourse be a cause of UTI?

    You may not fit all of the criteria for cystitis but that does not mean if left unchecked,you will not have it.
    Yes ,intercourse is often the cause.
    It was commonly known as honeymoon cystitis.

    You don't need a gynecologist for this.If you have a GP he /she can address it just as well.

    Taking cranberry tablets or drinking the juice (unsweetened) really helps mild cystitis.

    Normal tea is no good, because it's an astringent.

    Make sure you go to the toilet before and after sex and if necessary, wipe your vulva with a face washer to clean the area after sex.

    Also make sure that you're well lubricated during sex so that there is not too much pulling on the urethra.
