My periods are very regular but I am over two weeks late. My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for over 6 months. I have taken several home tests and they are negative. I also went to my doctor last week for a routine pap and she said my urine test was negative. Is it possible that I could be pregnant? When should I test again?

If you are 2 weeeeks late i would ask the doctor tot ake a pregnancy blood test to check. With a urine test, the hormones have to be a certain level to show a positive result, if your hormones fall a fraction below the required level, you will get a negative. This can happen if your hormones are slow to build up. The blood test, shows any rise in your hormone level, to indicate pregnancy or not. I don't want to give you false hope, but my daughter was 4 months pregnant before she got a positive result on a urine test, this also happened with her second pregnancy and both babies were fine. Unfortunately it sounds as though you are not pregnant yet. If you were pregnant your doctor would have noticed a bluish tint to your cervix when she did your Pap smear. The bluish tint is due to increased blood flow to the uterine area when pregnancy occurs.

However, it is slightly possible that you are not far enough along yet for this to happen. It usually begins within the first few weeks of pregnancy.

If you continue not to have a period, you need to get back in to the doctor to find out exactly what is going on.

I am in the exact same boat as you. Mine is only 5 days late but the urine test was negative too. My doctor said I could still be pregant and that is was to early to tell by the exam if i was pregant or not and that the bluish tint would come around week 6-8. She said if my period did not come in a week to call her and she would do a blood test.

No more new, my doctor told me to wait 2 weeks and test again. Of course I could not wait 2 weeks so I took one this morning (been a week since I saw my doctor). It is negative as well. I guess it is back to the old drawing board. This is such a frustrrating process.

So have yo done a blood test? They need to try and figure out why you are not getting your period.

I'm so sorry. I know how frustrating it can be. There is always this month though.

I haven't gotten mine yet. I am afraid to take another test, I feel like I am going to jinx it. I have a annual physical scheduled with my Primary on Monday so I am going to ask him to do a blood test if I have net gotten it yet.
