    Off the depo for 3 months -what are the chances of getting pregnant once off
    I have been off the depo since Sept-07. I haven't had a period at all... but what I was wondering.. I was on it for 4 years and now I might be pregnant... I will take a test tonight. But is it harder to get pregnant after being on the depo for so long? What an idiot I am... :)

    Typically it takes approximately 18 months after stopping depo to become pregnant as it takes about that long to get the synthetic hormone out of your system.

    Now, about the periods, missing periods is not uncommon after stopping depo either.

    Lastly, the pregnancy test... it is best to take it using first morning urine rather than taking it this evening. The reason is that the concentration of hCG is in higher concentrations in the morning. During the day you drink fluids and urinate frequently, thus reducing the concentration of the pregnancy hormone.

    I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

    Now, what I gave you was an average. As you know, not one form of birth control is 100% effective, aside from abstinence.

    Depo is given to women who do not want to become pregnant in the near future because it does take so long to get out of your system. Good luck, and use protection if you are not ready for parenthood.

    Yes, LOL, it is...

    I am 43 and have 4 kids... 21, 19, 14 and 5... So I can relate!!

    I was on depo also for a few years prior to having the youngest one.

    I took the depo shot the first shot I was surpose to go get the next one in march 16 2012 but I did'nt I am trying to get pregnant but I went to the doctor may 24 2012 they did a pregnancy test and it was negative . What are my chances of getting pregnant ?
