Menstration and Swimming

I cannot get me daughter to use a tampon. She is a swimmer and now teaches swimming. I can't find any info on being in the pool with a light period. Any for sure answers out there?

hi

I am a swimmer, and on my period i dont wear a tampon when i swim. If you take a shower 1/2 hour before you swim, your period stops. It also stops when you are in the water. Hope this helps!

hey

while it makes no sense, most womens periods just stop when they take a shower or a bath or go swimming. its a normal thing. but its not something i would rely on. could lead for a very embarasing situation if it doesnt work for her. my younger sister would not use tampons either, there is a brand though that is extra small that she doesnt mind. its tampax satin teen. see if she will use that.
