| My best advice would be to go to another doctor. This one is giving you false information. Having sex, for example, has nothing to do with ovarian cysts!
Ovarian cysts are important to take care of. Some will go away on their own, over time. Others will require surgery. They are very common and can actually be known to happen with each cycle, but most get flushed away with your period.
Since you are experiencing pain and your periods are becoming irregular, I suggest you get a second opinion from a quailified GYN. You want to be able to determine what type of cyst this is so you know what treatments are correct. Not all can "go away" with exercise, diet, and pills.
In case you do need surgery, you should know that in most cases, its not only a common outpatient procedure, but requires only small incisions (my sister had this done). Others, like mine, can develop into cancer - but this is VERY rare, so don't concern yourself too much. (My case was a 1 in 8,000,000 situation). Be safe, rather than sorry. |
