help... has any one encountered problems with condoms..
this is my first post.. not sure if i'm even posting this in the right place... but here goes...

my spouse and i have been together for twelve years... and in light of losing one of our children we have started using condoms... we have noticed and oder when using condoms.. is this normal..?

there is no oder when we do not use them... i do not have any abnormal discharge.. itching or burning so i am at a loss here...it's dampering our intimacy, can some one please help explain this...

any information would be apreciated... i've been researching every thing and can not find any answers... hellllllllp...

I know this may be a dumb question, but how old are the condoms? Are they expired possibly?

It could be due to the spermicide that is on them. Spermicide does have an odor of its own sometimes. Not exactly a bad odor, but a different one.

these are very new.. not due to expire till 2008.. just don't under stand why it's happening.. too weird..

The smell is coming from the spermicides mixing with the vaginal fluids. Spermicide on its own stinks, but it gets even worse when mixed with vaginal fluids.

Non-spermicidal ones just smell like latex gloves..lol. So they dont stink.

Also, i've never smelled a bad smell coming from Lifestyles condoms. Even the spermicidal ones dont stink.
