I have a bump on my vagina and I want to know what it is
Hello, I need to know what is wrong with me, I have a big red bump on my vagina lip and I just got it, I don't have any idea what it is, I'm scared to go to a doctor and I have tried to put medications on it. Nothing has worked and I don't know what to do. This thing is a huge red bump... like a pimple but it doesn't have a hole like a zit does, this is very painful if I were to touch it and it looks red and it's a little warm. It hurts very bad and the medication I used such as peroxide, rubbing alcohol, neosporin, triple antibiotic ointment, and some others have not worked in any way at all. I'm scared and I don't know what it is. Please help me figure out what it could be!

You're more scared of a doctor than finding out what it is and getting medicine for it and making yourself well again?? What would you do if you break your arm? And you're scared of the doctor because..?

Only a doctor can really tell you. You're going to have to be strong and go see a doctor. If it's nothing they'll tell you, and if it is something, you can get the help you need. Regardless, you need to know. Trust me, I'm allergic to laundry detergent and would get awful rashes on my vaginal area. I was so scared to go to the doctor, but I was soooo happy to find out that it could be prevented.

First of all... yeah, being afraid of the doctor... is not a good thing.

Second of all, don't use peroxide or rubbing alcohol on it. If anything, it'll further irritate it. If you want to cleanse it, soap and warm water will do just fine.

A small bump, without a proper examination, can be anything from a mild skin irritation to a STI. I wish I could help you more, but my best advice is to give it a couple of days, and if it gets worse or hasn't gone away or more bumps appear, go to the doctor.

Go to the doctor to have it checked out ASAP. Do not self-prescribe any treatments for yourself. It your vagina, go get it taken care of. That's your asset, guard it and definitely get it checked out.

Hello! One of two things is most likely going on. This may be TMI for some people... but I hope it helps...

It could be a pimple. The best advice I have is to ice it and then try to pop it. If it does pop... make sure you get it completely clean and then put neosporin on it. Try to sleep that evening without any panties so that it can get air to it.

If it does not pop... then you NEED to make an appointment with your Gynocologist. You could have what's called a "Bartholin's Gland Cyst". Each woman has two of them. On either lip of the vagina, and they lubricate your vagina. If it becomes infected it can form a very painful cyst. Your doctor can recommend the best course of treatment if this is what the problem is.

If you do not have a regular gynocologist try to see your PCP or go to the Emergency Room/Urgent Care clinic.

    Hope this helps you out!

Actually... J_9 is incorrect... I have personally spoken with my gynecologist about this specific problem. If it is a pimple... in that area... then the conditions for it to worsen are wonderful. Warm, moist area... etc. My gyno recommends taking a shower... and cleaning your vaginal area very well with a soap like Summers Eve... then ice it (this is to dull the pain) then apply light but firm pressure to either side. If nothing happens... then do not proceed. If it does pop... clean it once again and apply neosporin and continue with the steps above.

IF IT DOESN'T POP... make an appointment with your gynocologist... for the reason above.

Omg! I have the same thing! I got it yesterday! I looked it up and it is most likely a hair follicle! Idk what that is but look it up! It also said to try to pop it and if you do keep it dry! Hope that helps! :)

It could be a blocked sebaceous gland, which is basically a pimple. Almost like there is a little "bb" beneath the skin. When I had this, my doctor told me to soak in a hot tub of water (after she saw it- it's always good to have the doc take a look). Mine resolved on their own after a few days. Please don't try to pop it.

It could be a risen some people get that... my mom gets them every now and then on her private and it is very painful. I had something similar, but mine was a boil.. ugh! I know! It was painful and it had a head... I had to get it cut out! I know that's scary, but its betta to c what it really is so that you can get it treated. Also try hot baths with elpsom/elpson salt its one of those... it should help. My doctor advised me neva to bust it because of infections, etc and poppin it could make it worst. I couldn't wear underwear because it was so irritated. GO to the doctor... you'll feel betta! I was afraid too, but I had to do it. And you do too... good luck hun hope you get betta

I just don't know about some responses here...

Rule #1. GO TO THE DOCTOR!

When you say vagina-do you actually mean vulva? Where EXACTLY is the lump? Why are you putting chemicals/medicines onto something that you don't even know what it is?

Describe the location exactly or go to rule #1.
