    Do I still have an infection?
    I started my period on the 3rd of this month and then for the first time during my period I had a yeast infection. I used monistat medication and used pads for the days it took. My period ended and do did the cottage cheese discharge. I still used the external cream because it was still irritated. Now externally it feels fine but Im now having a foul, clear, fishy odor still. Does this mean I still have and infection or is it just because that's the normal outcome? If I still have an infection and can't see a doctor can I just use monistat a little longer or no?

    You can use the monistat but if the discharge continues please see your doctor to finally clear this up. Your partner may be reinfecting you as well.

    Thank you for the information. I'll try it for a week and see how it gos. I have heard that it can be passed back and fourth before but we always use condoms and I believe I got this infection because of my immune system, stress and also my ph level since it was during my period. Ive been with the same person for almost 5 years. I did also have a yeast infection before when I was using antibiotics for a surgery I had but not since then. Do you know how long they can last and also what is the best over the counter medication to get?
