Can I have kids

I been on the depo provera shot for two years off and on. when i got off the shot it took a long time for me to get my regular cycle back but it finally came and me and my fiance are ready to have a child. i ben off the shot for almost a year and i am really getting fustrated about this. Everyone is telling me to take folic acid to help I am ready and my fiance is getting really annoyed. is it because I am so anxious to have a baby. do anybody have any answers.

have you tried charting your cycle? You need to know when you are ovulating. It is best to do the deed on and off every other day from the day your period ends to around 5 days after you start ovulating. If you continue after that time the chances for conceiving go way down. It also helps to get a basal thermometer. Your temperature will go down some right before ovulation and then will peak when you are ovulating. You are most fertile the 3 days before ovulation. you need to test yourself for a couple of months to get a feel of what your cycle is. Then start really trying. It is a difficult thing, conceiving, when you are planning to do so. Some couples can take up to 6 months to finally conceive. I'd say if you are unsuccessful after seriously trying for 5-6 months, you should check with your doctor to see what other options are available. it is possible he/she will put you on hormones to help. You should read Dr. Shettles' books. He has a lot of good information about TTC. good luck!

I will say Depo can take up to two years to leave your system it took me 18 months to conceive with our daughter.
No dr here will give help until you have been trying for two years try a little less and love a little harder it will happen depo is pure evil to us women who want kids and i havent heard of anyone yet who told the full story when there dr told them that the shot was best for them.
There are hundreds of thousands of women all over the world in the same position so dont feel alone hugs to you and good luck xx

your fiancee is annoyed you cannot conceive?

ok. i understand wanting a child, but annoyed implies that hes irritated with you. sticky point if you ask me. marriage is work. kids and marriage are more work. hed better have more patience in him than this. after all, IF there is an issue of infertility, it could just as likely be him.

the issue of understanding your cycle is important. and most docs, unless theres some other reason to be concerned, say a year of trying without success is when theyll start to look for issues.

so how long HAS your cycle been regular again? and whats with the fiancee and the immediate rush to conceive immediately?
