Brownish color bleeding after depo

I had my last depo shot in August 2006 and beginning in late December, I started bleeding (not heavily, but enough to fill a panty liner a day) and the bleeding is brown in color. I only took two depo shots. Is it normal to bleed a brownish color after coming off depo?
