brown discharge with slight odor before and after my period

I have this brown discharge for like a week or two before my period and sometimes I have it after my period. I'm 14 and this only started happing last month. I dont know whats wrong. The discharge isn't dark brown and gooey its light brown and its just regular, I use kotex liners all the time now. And I can't tell if anybody else can smell.
