Depovera shot need some information

i have taken 3 shots i am coming p on my 4th very soon. and last month i bleed for the whole entire month with no cramps or pains. i have been having continuous headaches. but i stopped bleeding now. but i heard that isn't healthy to bleed for so long and now i don't know if i should get off of it or not. i have also gained a lot of weight from it and i am always exercising but the weight doesn't seem to want to go away. what i would like to know is are the side effects of the shot supposed to be this bad? and what experiences have other people have had with it. thank you for your time.

i have been on depo for 5 to 6 years now. my dr told me that some people cannot handle the shot. my friend tried it and she kept bleeding straight through for three months. The booklet that comes with the depo states that you can experience weight gain, decreased or increased sex drives and many other things. i think maybe you should read the book *no offence ment but it helped me* i've also been told some people still get their peroids when they are on depo. it claims to stop your peroid completely but i have not found this to be true. it does in some people but not all. with me *and i've talked to my dr about this. she says it does happen sometimes to some people* i end up getting my peroid once every three months. approximately 1/2 way in between when i get it and when i need to get my shot again and it lasts for up to two weeks. try talking to your dr about it becuase you are right i dont think it is healthy to bleed for that long. I hope i helped
