wireless internet sharing

Hi, i want to set up a wireless LAN that connects two computers. I have a D-Link AirPLus G wireless router that connects to my ADSL modem. A D-Link wireless card on the laptop and a TP-Link wireless card on the desktop. I logged on to internet using my laptop first, and it worked, but then when I tried to access internet from my desktop(with the laptop connecting to the net at the same time), the computer couldn't pick up any wireless connection(there is no range issue...), or even at the rare occasion that the connection got detected, the computer had problem connecting to it. Can anyone give me any suggestion on what to do?

Any help is appreciated.

I would call D-Link tech support. It sounds like the desktop is not configured properly. D-Link has very good 24/7 toll free support.
