Updating Cisco APs

I've got some older Cisco 1230B APs that only support 802.11b. I've also got 2 1231G APs good for 802.11g & legacy b.
First, is there a way to copy the firmware from the BG units to upgrade the B units? It's all 2.4GHz, so I think hardware is not an issue.
Second, if I can, is it legal?

Thanks in advance.
