Okay well me and my dad just got 2 new phones and we don't know what to do with our old ones. We were thinking of giving one of them to my cousin and she could hook it up as pay as you go or something. But when we called and asked how much it would cost to get the phone up and running for her and they said 80$. 45$ for the sim card and 35$ for the activation fee. But with our new phones we got new sim cards also.

So I was thinking she coud just use my old sim card and then only have to pay the activation fee, is this possible???

***And what should we do with our old phones is it worth it to sell them. They are both Motorolla V360s, and I have a set of 30$ headphones for them also.

Same carrier? Not a problem. They can reprogram the SIM cards for a new number.

Give them a simple question: "Do you want my additional monthly business or not?". You can take your SIM card and phone to somebody who is willing to do business with you.

Case in point: My truck was broken into and my wife's phone was one of the things that was stolen. We had just renewed the contract and purchased the phone a month earlier. The AT&T phone store people wanted me to pay full price for the phone ($375). I went over to WalMart where they were selling the same phone for $150 less and they also activated the SIM card for me FOR FREE.

I am not sure, but the SIM card is a standard memory chip; believe it can be used in any (??) phone that uses a SIM card. So you can take your old SIM and use it in your new phones, that is main reason Europe pioneered SIM card phones, so customer can take stored info with them (more customer oriented). T-Mobile only charges $10 or so for actual new SIM card; activation is nominal fee depending on company and who you are dealing with (local sales rep can make deals). So with more knowledge and with competition for customers, you make the deal!!! PS - Cell phone users and thus company income is about maxed out, so companies are treading water to avoid failure (bankruptcy).
