how do I encryt a dlink524 c version

I assume you mean to ask how to turn on Encryption on the DLINK 524 wireless router. If that's the case you should enable WPA support on your wireless router. You can download the manual which has step by step instructions on how to setup your DLINK 524 as well as how to configure a wireless PC/Laptop to use the DLINK 524. The manual is here:

You should also download the latest firmware and install it if you haven't already done so. You can find the firmware and other info for your router here:
