not connecting to specific sites with wireless

i can't open gmail on my wireless connection. i just can't get to the homepage at all, far less log in. i can open several other websites though. i've tried several browsers and i always get the 'cannot display this webpage' message. however, if i use a dial-up connection (yes, i live in the 3rd world) i can open the page.
is there something in my wireless connection properties that i need to change? help!!!

I doubt it. It sounds like wireless provider is restricting certain sites. And there is nothing you can do about that legally.
