| The standard Compaq N610c did not come with a built in Bluetooth adapter... It was an extra multi-port option you could buy as an add-on.
Are you sure your n610c came with the Bluetooth adapter, or are you plugging in one via the USB port? |

| Did your bundle come with a cd-rom? if it did then did you install it? If that isnt the problem, then try a different USB port, try spraying canned air into it, and if that doesnt solve it then it might take some research. |

| it didn't come with a cd-rom...just the little "stick", the mouse, and the keypad. The instructions say to wait until you see the computer detects the USB receuver, but it never was detected...that's where I'm stuck at |

| I never thought about that...so if it isn't detecting anything then that would probably be the problem...do you know if there is a way of checking them? |

| One other thing about the N610c that I remember is that the original BIOS had trouble with the USB ports. We had to upgrade the BIOS to get any USB devices working (Thanks jham for jogging my memory on that!). Check the Compaq website - http://www.compaq.com/support |
