I do not have that choice when I right click. The only choices I have are:
- Browse the Internet
- Browse without Add-ons
- Internet Properties
- Remove from this list
None of these have any choices related to icons...
1) Right Click on the Taskbar
2) Left Click on Properties
3) Click on Start Menu Tab
4) Select (Classic Start Menu)
5) Click Apply, Click OK
Or
1) Go to Control Panel
2) Go to Taskbar and Start Menu Icon
3) Follow above Steps 3-5
I do not want the "Classic Start menu." How do I fix this using the "Start menu" choice where the "Customize" "General" options has "Internet" and "E-Mail" for the "Show on Start Menu" choices?
When I manually add an Internet Explorer link, the icon is fine. However when I pin the program using right click Start button -> Properties -> Start Menu -> Start menu -> Customize -> Show on Start menu -> Internet: Internet Explorer, the icon is wrong (looks like a broken icon, but the link works).
Well im afraid thats me out on this one, if the icon is shown as broken, then normally the link doesnt work, but as you say it works fine, for me thats called the Windows Triangle
A similar thing happened to me to me, except in my case both the icon and link were disabled after trying another browser and I solved it by editing my registry.
Open up regedit and export a backup of it just in case from the File menu.
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Clients\StartMenuInter net\IEXPLORE.EXE\DefaultIcon
Change the value of (Default) by double clicking it. Edit it to C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe,-7
My icon showed up just fine after I did that but it took me some time to track this problem down.
