    System crystal
    Hello,

When A computer is powered up, what component on the system board gets the first electric charge? Is it the system clock (system crystal)? Or is it the CPU itself?

    Thanks

The system crystal determines the speed at which a CPU and the rest of the PC operates. The quartz oscillator sends out an electric pulse at a certain speed which goes first to the clock chip that adjusts the pulse by increasing it. -Matthew Spencer Lenard- [email protected]
