Reloading Windows XP

Asked Oct 25, 2010, 12:45 PM — 2 Answers
I needed to redo my operating system, I had a virus.
I formatted my drive using SpotMau, made another partion. When |I when to load windows XP using the install disc I get the blue screen as soon as it says "setup is starting windows". I though it was a ram problem but have swapped ram around and using different slots. If I take the hard drive out of the laptop I get the blue screen at the same spot. I'm sure it's because I partitioned the drive first.
What do I need to install windows, 1 partition at NTFS?
I kind of thought that windows install disc would ask me to format if it was wrong.
I need some help.

Try resetting your BIOS to default and reload again. Worked 70% of the time.
