vista and no sound

My sound went off a couple of weeks agao - so I bought a sound card
I put the sound card in and it worked for about half a day - then I have go an error message - sa with 96khz and high bit dept support do no distribute! and it has stopped working - now my printer also has stopped working
Please HELP
