Power Point Presentation on a Lap Top Computer

Hi! Can anyone help me with this dilema? My boss is going to be giving a Power Point presentation in a couple of weeks and he wants to use his new lap top computer. He wants me to rent a projector for him to give it on. My question is: Is there any way he can just buy a cord and hook it up to a t.v. out put connection and us a t.v. screen? And if he can, What kind of a cord does he need?

Thanks,
ginag
