    Hi, vinton,
You didn't say what windows version you are using, but if you have XP, here is a link to how to do a repair of XP: http://computing.net/windowsxp/wwwbo...um/140403.html

If using the Repair doesn't work, then it will take some more troubleshooting. Please post back if you need more help.

Well it sounds to me like something is loose/damaged in your PC. How confident are you about tinkering around in your case? If you are confident, I would open the case up, try reseating the RAM (take it out, put it back in, make sure it's in properly). It might also be worth checking the cable connections to your hard drives etc.

If you aren't confident - take the PC to a repair shop. You can do a lot of unrepairable damage to your PC if you don't know what you are doing.

Out of curiousity - what make/model of PC is it? Another thing to check is if the PC has some diagnositc LEDs on the back of the case. There may be 4 LEDS in a square or rectangle that will keep changing to different patterns as your PC boots up. Let us know if you have some of these as these can be used to find out exactly what the problem is (pic showing an example of the LED's - this is what I have with my motherboard)
