Pc Not Booting in xp

Dear All,
I am using Windows 2000 Prof. & Windows Xp , in Dual boot Mode. My Pc works fine with 2000 prof. But when i select Xp to boot, it restarts .

i am using Pentium D 2.8 GHz Processer,
my mobo is Gigabyte 8I945 GZME -RH & 512 Mb Ram.
PLEASE GIVE ME SOME ADVICE
