New Harddrive with XP Pro

I am still in the dark about what I can and can not do with Windows XP Pro. I just bought a bigger harddrive and I plan to install it in a computer that is running Windows XP Pro. I will copy the old hard drive to the new hard drive that is not the problem(if there even is a problem). Will I have any problems running windows with the new drive? I guess what I am afraid of is that the new copy protection security will some how kick in and give me problems. I know XP looks for hardware that it has been activated with. Does this include harddrives?

Thanks for your time,
David : ;D
