My Laptop Will Not Boot :(

help please

my packard bell lptop will not load windows. When I first turn it on, it displays a screen about an inconvience and list a few ways to boot, safe mode being one of them. Iv tried to boot from safe mode and the last time it was working but it jus lists loads of writing whcih includes system wins32, if i boot it in normal mode then it starts running windows xp, then keeps going back to the start screen again

When booting in safe mode, you need to wait a while for the writing to go away, then you want to back up your files, and completely reinstall windows. I had the same problem before and thats the only way.

Sounds like your install of windoze has gone bad for some reason.
It wil be worth trying a repair install.
Here's the official Micro$oft way of doing a repair install,
and Here's one with screen shots.

Basically this installs windows over the top of your current setup.
So you don't loose any information you already have.
