internet options

Windows xp sp 2 Under the connection setting in the internet options where you can chose to auto detect settings mine keeps changing to the prox server setting by itself and then pages don't seem to work right I chnage it to auto seems alright till i am online again then it has chnaged to proxy server. I am using dial up for aol but browse net using internet explorer 6.0 what could cause this change so much all the time auto matically never went thru this before.

I would have to say that AOL is the problem. I had a roommate installed it on one of my systems and every thing was changed. I had to remove it to be able to use the internet correctly again.
