PC Problems!!

I'm here in desperate need of help.
My computer stopped reading c.ds today. It won't spin or anything, i can hear it try but it doesn't. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver but...no dice. I don't know what to do now, what else can I do (besides get a new pc...not really an option, this computer is pretty new)? Help!

Cd

if that unit is bad, they are easy to change, I don't know anything about computers really and i added one that also writes so easy

If you open it up you see that the CD unit merely plugs into a board and is held in normally with two little screws. I changed my own out in less than 1/2 hour, I was surprised it was so eay.

If you have a local shop, they may even have good used one ( someone upgraded) but honestly I can't tell you how to check your or anything like that, but adding a new one is so easy it almsot seemed like cheating

your cdrom not reading

more than likely you have a defective cd-rom. If its a Dell Pc thhis comes as no surprise. One thing you can try to fix is flashinging the cd-rom bios with a bios update from the manufacturer
