display problems

Hello, I've bought a new computer, but the display just show on 32 bits the pictures and the dvd videos, the desktop, internet explorer pictures, and other stuff looks if I have the depslay setting at 16 colors, what can i do,surelly is Softare problem, because the pictures looks great at this HP LCD flat panel monitor 19 inches

Hi eaglemoc,
Did you check your display settings? Make sure the display color quality is set for 32 bit colors. Hope you know how to set it. If not do the following.
Right Click any where on the desktop. Click Properties > Settings > Change the color quality to 32 bit.

I know how to do that, Actually I've checked on the Display Settings, also re-instaled the Monitor and display drivers, this problem I've never seen on any computer I have, thge display settings are at 32 bits, If they not, the pictures at the picture viewer or the DVD videos, mpeg videos should nmot look good, but they did, just the icons, for example, I've serch images at google, the thumbnails looks awful, and also the displayed picture at internet explorer, but when I open on the microsoft window spicture and fax viewer, they looks great. see, It's mot very simple.

Could this be a screen resolution problem? Is it set to 640x480 or 800x600?
