USB 2.0 not working in Windows XP

Hi, I'm having trouble getting an Intel USB 2.0 hub accepted by windows XP but the hub itself will operate at USB 1 speeds (ie Windows accepts it as a USB port, it just operates at the slower rate and gives me warnings when i fit USB 2 hardware into it (like thumb drives) that the drive will only run at USB 1 speeds).

At start up, Windows runs hardware wizard and then asks for an EHCI driver installation disk. I've tried a web search for the EHCI driver and dowloaded the software but still XP doesn't accept the hardware. I've also checked the USB drive connection to the motherboard and this seems fine.
Any other ideas?

Does the hub you are using have external power? Often the culprit is that the USB port from the PC is not supplying enough power.

Or check this out: http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;813139

No its an internal USB 2 hub. No external power required.

I'm assuming it's not an actual hub but a bunch of USB ports already set up on your case. I've seen this problem with some Dell computers (http://www.usbman.com/Guides/Compute...20Problems.htm)
There is no fix for that other than buying the external USB hub with its own power.
